Introducing Olando

Meet Olando, (or Lando for short), our 2015 Landcruiser 200 Series UAE Extreme edition, full of grunt with a 380hp 5.7 litre petrol V8, one of the most comfortable yet off-road capable vehicles ever made.

Upgraded with South African Gobi-X metal rear bumper with swing away water and tyre carrier, alloy front bumper, 5 tonne winch for those tricky situations, 2” raised King suspension, high strength rims and legendary BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2 tyres to help on the rough roads and tracks ahead.

Kitted with all the necessary tools of the trade - sand tracks, trasheroo (for being tidy Kiwis) and shovel. Oh and enough NZ stickers to ensure everyone knows who we are! (Or rather who we aren't 😆)

We plan to drive around 20-30,000 kms over highways, byways, desert and the steppes from Dubai to the Stans and back. As we will be camping as much as possible we have installed a 3 person roof tent from an Italian manufacturer (https://www.instagram.com/autohome_official) The Nomadland 2.0 model in the largest size folds out sideways to give a near instant 180 x 240cm roof tent space. And most importantly a wicked open skylight for stargazing!

For our kitchen and storage we have installed a a draw system by b one custom (https://www.instagram.com/bonecustomsdubai) slide out fridge and cooking area, custom designed to allow the upper area to be used for easy access to clothing and food storage. We’ve added a 2400wh high capacity power station for the fridge and to allow us to cook using an induction plate, minimising the inconvenience of using gas. This allows 2 days off grid without driving and fully charges within 4hrs from the car alternator using a Victron 11-30v DCDC converter. And it's also grunty enough to power a toastie maker and a hairdryer 😜

Additionally we have extra lights all round for night drives and camping. TJM awning on the other side and a handy shower tent for when we need some privacy. Hoping to be far away from the crowds as much as possible so hope to not need that much!

Time to hit the road, baby!
